SICKYPOO ON THE MISSION December 18, 2017

This week was an adventure! A lot of good things happened, but sadly I was also sick all week. I had a cold and cough that just made it a little difficult to talk which is hard being a missionary, but everything worked out the way it was supposed to and we had a fun week. We did lots of service and got to help the Coleman theater for a show they had. It was the first sold out show since the 50s so that was exciting! :) We also had a big lunch with the other missionaries near us, because it was our senior couple, Elder Chipman's birthday. They are so sweet and it was so fun being with the other missionaries.

Another amazing thing that happened this week was we had a lesson with our investigator named Joseph. He's been loving meeting with us and learning more about the gospel, so this week we invited him to be baptized and he said yes! We are looking forward to helping prepare him to enter the waters of baptism in the new year. We also had two lessons with our truck driver friend James, who is getting baptized on the 30th of this month and he is awesome! We have been planning the baptism and he is so excited to become a member of the ward, it's fantastic! We have really been able to see the Lord's hand in our lives in this area this week and it's so amazing to see the people He is preparing! We've been getting a lot of referrals for people to teach and meet this week, so we are looking forward to meeting lots more people who are being prepared to hear the gospel :)

Something we have been working hard on this week has been to Light the World. It's been so great seeing all the miracles and things that are happening as we go out and do those little acts of service each day. I know that through all our little efforts the Lord is blessing not only them, but us as well. It's through the small things that great things come to pass. Alma 37:6-7.

I hope you have all been reaching out to those around you and enjoying the Christmas season! Every effort counts and is a blessing to someone else. I love and miss you all so much! I hope you have a blessed week and are looking forward to Christmas and celebrating the day of Christ's birth.

Don't forget to remember why this season is so special, and the true meaning of Christmas.
Love, Sister Burton

Sugar cookie season!

My companion and I have been doing the 12 days of Christmas and opening a little gift each day, it's been so much fun!

Temple Tuesday November 13, 2017

Hey Friends!! This week was so fun!! We had the amazing opportunity to go to the St.Louis temple this week! I loved it so much! I am so grateful we were able to go because we don't have on in our mission, but blessed with the best mission president :) We also had a fun time with our zone this week and did interviews with our mission president and his wife. They are such great people with lots of advice for us missionaries, I love it!  Something amazing that happened this week was we had exchanges with the traveling sisters (they go around the mission visiting all the sisters) and so there were four sisters just in our area, but it was the busiest day of the week! We had so many lessons that with each companionship we didn't have any gaps of time. It was such a cool miracle because we were able to teach so many people and have such a great experience. I just thought that was so cool!  Another thing that I started this week was reading the Book of Mormon and just...

GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES December 4, 2017

Hey everyone!! This week has been so great for the sister missionaries in Miami Oklahoma! So many good things are happening and it's wonderful! We've been able to see a lot of miracles happen. First, we were able to go to Bentonville this week for our Christmas Zone Conference which was amazing! So many good things were said and I was able to get my bike! So we can finally take a break from walking! haha But we were able to go serve and teach a few people in Baxter Springs Kansas so now I am officially a 4-state missionary, exciting :)  We've been doing service at the Coleman Theater which is an amazing theater built in the 1920s and it's beautiful! It's been fun serving there as well as the Dobson house and museum which is all about the history of Miami and a cute families home that is over 100 years old! We love being able to do service here and reach out to the people that are so involved in the community. :) Another miracle that happened this week wa...
