MIAMI IS MY NEW HOME March 28, 2018

Hey Y'all!!

I'm staying another 6 weeks here in Miami Oklahoma!! YAY!! With Sister Najera so that will be so much fun!! We will continue to learn Spanish and help this ward grow! I'm so excited about it :)  I told the Bishop I was staying another 6 weeks and he just asked if he should find me a home to live in so I can just stay forever. haha it was so funny!

This week was pretty great! We found some new Hispanic investigators from Honduras and they are so sweet! It's been a blast learning Spanish and being able to teach them. :)

This week we had a neat experience with having members involved and having investigators reach out to us. A while ago we gave an investigator a break to determine what he desires, because every time we would schedule an appointment he wouldn't answer the door when we came and we couldn't seem to stay in contact. But then the other day he reached out and contacted us and wanted to meet again. We had dinner with a member and asked if she would come to a lesson with us before hand and she said yes. We went and it was a wonderful lesson. We were able to answer his questions about Prophets and invite him to watch General Conference with us. He really wants to come to church and change his life so we are going to be working a lot with him which will be good. It was a testimony builder for me, because it helped me see how important having the member there is and how people have so many questions, but they might not know how to ask or where to ask. It made me realize that we have the answers for those who are questioning and we just need to open our mouths and share that message with them. As well as you the how to begin teaching points to help them understand our purpose and invite them to ask questions. It's amazing how the Lord prepares the people in so many different ways. I love it!

Our mission President talked about Meekness today and I think meekness is one of the ways we show Heavenly Father how much we love Him. As we develop this trait, we have the desire to do His will and that comes from love. I am working on acquiring this trait through prayer. I am working to show Heavenly Father that I am here and praying for help to open my mouth so that when experiences arrive I can share with those around me. Then I try to remember to report back at night what happened.

I am so excited for General Conference!! I hope you all are too! It's going to be amazing!! I hope you all get a chance to watch/listen to it. I know that Heavenly Father can answer all our questions through the Prophets and when we listen with an open heart and mind.

Thank you so much for all your support!! I hope you all have a fantastic week!
Love, Sister Burton

Temple Tuesday November 13, 2017

Hey Friends!! This week was so fun!! We had the amazing opportunity to go to the St.Louis temple this week! I loved it so much! I am so grateful we were able to go because we don't have on in our mission, but blessed with the best mission president :) We also had a fun time with our zone this week and did interviews with our mission president and his wife. They are such great people with lots of advice for us missionaries, I love it!  Something amazing that happened this week was we had exchanges with the traveling sisters (they go around the mission visiting all the sisters) and so there were four sisters just in our area, but it was the busiest day of the week! We had so many lessons that with each companionship we didn't have any gaps of time. It was such a cool miracle because we were able to teach so many people and have such a great experience. I just thought that was so cool!  Another thing that I started this week was reading the Book of Mormon and just...

TRY IT!!! July 9, 2018

Hello Friends and Family! This week was super good! I learned a lot! We got to meet our new Mission President and his wife this week! yay! They are so sweet! I am very excited to be able to work with them, even though it is sad to see the Lovelands go, they were amazing. I'm President and Sister Strong will be too! One thing I learned from President Strong this week was to TRY IT. He talked a little bit about how you won't know unless you try. This really stuck out to me because it works so well with everything! Like, you never know if that person is going to be interested in the gospel unless you try talking to them, right? You don't know if you'll be good at something unless you try. I love this so much! I'm not sure why it clicked so well, but it did. and it's TRUE! We are here to TRY. We have been sent to earth and given the gift of agency to try things. To try to improve and be better. We can't become perfect at something unless we try. I am so g...
