Entering the Provo MTC August 9, 2017

Hi everyone!!

I have safely made it to the MTC!! When we first got here they had to drop me off down in the underground parking lot which was pretty sketchy, but I survived!! haha I was able to get my name tag right after, so I feel safer ;) Anyways, I've been given a dorm room and met my teachers and a few other people that are in my district while I'm here, it's so awesome!! My P-Day is going to be next Thursday so you will hear from me again then. I am so excited to be here!! So far the people that I have met are either going to Wisconsin or St. Louis Missouri. I have not yet met my companion that I will have while being here, but it's not sister Price, it's sister Mcneil. I've already been asked lots of fun questions about why I am here and what is my purpose which has been really cool, you can definitely feel the spirit here. Okay, so I don't have that much time, but I promise I am safe and even though I've only been here an hour, I am loving it! I had such a cool Sister that helped me know where to go. I love you all so much!! I'll be able to tell you more next Thursday!

Love,
   Sister Burton

Mariah's mission blog

Mariah is serving in the Arkansas Bentonville Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She entered the MTC in Provo on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. She will return in February of 2019. She will serve for 18 months. She is so excited to be out there serving and teaching. She gets to write home on her Preparation Day which is usually on Mondays.  I will post the group letter she writes each week along with the pictures she includes. Her pictures haven't been visible to everyone in her emails so this will be a place to see it all. She loves to receive letters and emails and I've listed her addresses below. We are so proud of Mariah and her service. We miss her terribly but know that she is in the best place and in the best hands for this time of her life. We love you, Sister Burton!   Hey Everyone!!  This week and half have been so good and so crazy!! So it's transfer week and I am being transferred to Springfield Missouri in the YSA ward. I am so excited about it! It's going to be sad leaving everyone here in Sugar Creek, but I'm looking forward to a new adventure with my new companion Sister Sanders :)  Last week on Pday we went to Crystal Bridges which is a very popular art museum here and it was beautiful. If you like art, keep that place in mind to visit one day. Then we had some sisters from Missouri come down for exchanges since Sister Tillotson is their training leader. That was a hoot with all four of us there. Cool story on this exchange: Sister Lloyd and I were together and we went to visit with three potential investigators that everytime sister T and I went they weren't home and guess what?? They were all home!! It was so awesome getting to talk with them and share a scripture. We had return appointments and we've started t...
