MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!! January 1, 2018

Guess who's staying in Miami longer than 6 weeks? This sister missionary! haha I'm very excited I get to stay in the Miami ward for another transfer :) I love this area and the people here so it will be nice staying another 6 weeks. However, sadly my companion is leaving and I will be getting someone new. I am excited though because my new companion has been here before so she already knows the area. It will be a great start to the new year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!

We had James' Baptism on Saturday!! We are so happy for him and his desire to become a member of the church. He was so thrilled to be baptized and now he keeps saying he wants to get all his friends and family in the church :) It's amazing the Spirit we were able to feel that night as he entered the waters of baptism. It was just so touching to see someone making that covenant with God. :)  Funny story- In our ward building we have some suits for baptism and there is an old one with a belt and collar and as I joke I told James he should wear it and he actually did! It was so fun, but honestly it didn't matter which suit he wore, but it mattered about the covenant which he made with Heavenly Father, to take upon himself His name, always remember Him, and keep His commandments. It was so wonderful to be a part of James' special day! Now we are preparing him to go to the temple soon! :)

Yesterday in Sacrament meeting a member gave a talk about our new years resolutions. She talked about how she usually sets goals to lose weight or go to the gym more and how she never seems to accomplish those goals. She went on to say that we should try making goals that will help us come closer to our Savior. Setting goals by thinking, "What would the Savior have me do this year?" How can I come closer to him? One of my goals is to read through the Bible dictionary under Jesus Christ and studying all the verses under His name throughout the year. I know this will help me learn more about my Savior and how I can become more like Him. I think the Savior would have me draw closer to Him so that I can help teach the people on my mission the way Christ would teach them.

I hope you all enjoy setting goals for the new year and plan to stick with them! I know that we can use this time  to come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ and help reach out to those around us as He would. I love you all and hope you have an amazing week! Stay warm and enjoy the New Year! :)

Temple Tuesday November 13, 2017

Hey Friends!! This week was so fun!! We had the amazing opportunity to go to the St.Louis temple this week! I loved it so much! I am so grateful we were able to go because we don't have on in our mission, but blessed with the best mission president :) We also had a fun time with our zone this week and did interviews with our mission president and his wife. They are such great people with lots of advice for us missionaries, I love it!  Something amazing that happened this week was we had exchanges with the traveling sisters (they go around the mission visiting all the sisters) and so there were four sisters just in our area, but it was the busiest day of the week! We had so many lessons that with each companionship we didn't have any gaps of time. It was such a cool miracle because we were able to teach so many people and have such a great experience. I just thought that was so cool!  Another thing that I started this week was reading the Book of Mormon and just...

TRY IT!!! July 9, 2018

Hello Friends and Family! This week was super good! I learned a lot! We got to meet our new Mission President and his wife this week! yay! They are so sweet! I am very excited to be able to work with them, even though it is sad to see the Lovelands go, they were amazing. I'm President and Sister Strong will be too! One thing I learned from President Strong this week was to TRY IT. He talked a little bit about how you won't know unless you try. This really stuck out to me because it works so well with everything! Like, you never know if that person is going to be interested in the gospel unless you try talking to them, right? You don't know if you'll be good at something unless you try. I love this so much! I'm not sure why it clicked so well, but it did. and it's TRUE! We are here to TRY. We have been sent to earth and given the gift of agency to try things. To try to improve and be better. We can't become perfect at something unless we try. I am so g...
