BACK TO AR-KANSAS! May 9, 2018

Hi friends and family!!

So transfers are this week and they are moving me back to Arkansas. I am going to Springdale and I'll be in the Prairie Grove ward with my new companion Sister Wamsley! I'm super excited! We both came to the mission field at the same time so it's going to be fun to see how much we've changed in the past 9 months :)

It's been sad saying goodbye to this wonderful place of Miami, Oklahoma, but I know this will be good. I'm grateful for everything I have learned here and all the amazing people that have played a huge role on my mission! Sister Najera is staying so that will be super good- she's awesome.

We had an amazing faith building experience this week! We were planning to tract a street and I had been praying that someone would be prepared on that street. I read Elder Uchtdorf's talk this week Fourth Floor, Last Door. and this gave me a lot of motivation that there would be someone on that street prepared, we just needed to act in faith. Then we went and tried every door. We met a lot of people who didn't want to hear our message at first. Then we kept going saying, "come on, fourth floor last door!" We knocked on this one door and it was amazing to see how open this man was. We were so excited to be able to share our message with him and he said we could come back! We thought that was going to be it, but the next house we knocked on, he was super kind, not super open, but nicer than a lot of people which we thought was wonderful! Then the next house, a young girl answered the door and we asked an impact question and she opened up and told us how she was looking for a place to go because she just moved here. We told her about our purpose and how much this will change her life and she was excited. We went back just on Saturday and we used the how to begin teaching to help her understand more about why we are here, we told her it was her choice to accept and act on our message, she responded, "I'm going to try it, I am going to read this book now." It was AMAZING! It's so fantastic being able to see the miracles happening and the way the Lord is preparing people for us to come. She had just gotten home from work and she was so tired, but she knew this was something she wants to learn more about so she came and talked to us and is going to start reading the Book of Mormon. This was a testimony builder for me, because as we act on our faith then the Lord can help us.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!! Thank you for all the love and encouragement! :)

Love, Sister Burton

Temple Tuesday November 13, 2017

Hey Friends!! This week was so fun!! We had the amazing opportunity to go to the St.Louis temple this week! I loved it so much! I am so grateful we were able to go because we don't have on in our mission, but blessed with the best mission president :) We also had a fun time with our zone this week and did interviews with our mission president and his wife. They are such great people with lots of advice for us missionaries, I love it!  Something amazing that happened this week was we had exchanges with the traveling sisters (they go around the mission visiting all the sisters) and so there were four sisters just in our area, but it was the busiest day of the week! We had so many lessons that with each companionship we didn't have any gaps of time. It was such a cool miracle because we were able to teach so many people and have such a great experience. I just thought that was so cool!  Another thing that I started this week was reading the Book of Mormon and just...

TRY IT!!! July 9, 2018

Hello Friends and Family! This week was super good! I learned a lot! We got to meet our new Mission President and his wife this week! yay! They are so sweet! I am very excited to be able to work with them, even though it is sad to see the Lovelands go, they were amazing. I'm President and Sister Strong will be too! One thing I learned from President Strong this week was to TRY IT. He talked a little bit about how you won't know unless you try. This really stuck out to me because it works so well with everything! Like, you never know if that person is going to be interested in the gospel unless you try talking to them, right? You don't know if you'll be good at something unless you try. I love this so much! I'm not sure why it clicked so well, but it did. and it's TRUE! We are here to TRY. We have been sent to earth and given the gift of agency to try things. To try to improve and be better. We can't become perfect at something unless we try. I am so g...
