I DIDN'T KNOW I CAME TO A SPANISH SPEAKING MISSION! :) March 19, 2018

Hey everyone! 

Yo no hablo ingles, estoy aprendiendo espano! I truly am learning so much! It's so fun! We had two amazing miracles this week that I want to share that happened in Spanish. We went to visit a potential investigator and the one man spoke English, but he was drinking a beer and said we should talk to Patricia inside, but she only speaks Spanish. So Sister Najera did a wonderful job of teaching and sharing our message with her all in Spanish. I sat there just in awe, I think they thought I was weird, but it was just so amazing! You can feel the Spirit so strong and since I knew what she was saying for the most part, I was able to focus on how Patricia was responding and focus on how receptive she was. It was so cool! 

Okay, second miracle. We were out looking for less actives and we saw the Torres family was nearby where we were so we went. This man answered the door and we asked if Alberto was there. I'm not sure he fully understood me, but he let us in anyway. Turns out he is Alberto's father and let us in because we said we know him. Then we continued to tell him and his wife that Alberto was a member of our church and his parents had no idea so that was fun telling them :) They were very kind and we shared a message with them as well. They gave us Alberto's and Sharon's (His wife) phone numbers. Then the next day we got a call from Sharon. She was wanting us to come over, but she only speaks Spanish so Sister Najera did all the talking and teaching. We went over to her house and got to know her. It was amazing! She has been wanting to come to church, but Alberto always has excuses not to go. But after she met with us she said she was definitely coming to church and they did! They came yesterday and we had our Sunday school lesson in Spanish and it was so wonderful! She has such a strong testimony and even though she didn't understand everything in church, she knew it was the same no matter where she went and she wanted to go and feel the Spirit. I know that the Lord has a purpose for everyone and if Sister Najera wasn't here, I'm not sure what would have happened, but because she is here, she was able to help this family come back to church. I love how Sharon knew that even though she doesn't understand the language, that going to church was important and that she wanted to be there to feel the Spirit. 

It was such a great week! Sister Najera and I are having so much fun together! Things are going great over here in Oklahoma!

This is Sister Ferrel. She served here in Miami in 2015 and went home after my first transfer. We served around each other in Bentonville and she was also companions with Sister Tillotson. It was so cool seeing her again! She brought her parents back to see the area. It was a fun surprise.

Mariah is serving in the Arkansas Bentonville Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She entered the MTC in Provo on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. She will return in February of 2019. She will serve for 18 months. She is so excited to be out there serving and teaching. She gets to write home on her Preparation Day which is usually on Mondays.  I will post the group letter she writes each week along with the pictures she includes. October 16, 2017 SPRINGFIELD YSA, WOOT WOOT!

Hey Y'all!  This week has been so good! It's also been so crazy because of transfers, but I did it! I made it safely to Springfield Missouri with my new companion Sister Sanders. It's been so much fun! I got here  on Thursday  after saying all my goodbyes to the wonderful people of Sugar Creek. Then I went straight to a lesson. The work here is going amazing and there are lots of people to teach! I love it! :)  It is definitely a change coming from a family ward to YSA, but it's so much fun! The ward is a blast and everyone is so willing to help us with missionary work. Something fun about our area is we are right across the street from Missouri State University's campus so we spend a lot of time talking to the students there which is awesome. I haven't had too much experience yet, just because they were all on fall break this last weekend, but I am excited to see it when there's a lot more people!  We did service this week at Well of Life which ...
