This week was an adventure! A lot of good things happened, but sadly I was also sick all week. I had a cold and cough that just made it a little difficult to talk which is hard being a missionary, but everything worked out the way it was supposed to and we had a fun week. We did lots of service and got to help the Coleman theater for a show they had. It was the first sold out show since the 50s so that was exciting! :) We also had a big lunch with the other missionaries near us, because it was our senior couple, Elder Chipman's birthday. They are so sweet and it was so fun being with the other missionaries.
Another amazing thing that happened this week was we had a lesson with our investigator named Joseph. He's been loving meeting with us and learning more about the gospel, so this week we invited him to be baptized and he said yes! We are looking forward to helping prepare him to enter the waters of baptism in the new year. We also had two lessons with our truck driver friend James, who is getting baptized on the 30th of this month and he is awesome! We have been planning the baptism and he is so excited to become a member of the ward, it's fantastic! We have really been able to see the Lord's hand in our lives in this area this week and it's so amazing to see the people He is preparing! We've been getting a lot of referrals for people to teach and meet this week, so we are looking forward to meeting lots more people who are being prepared to hear the gospel :)
Something we have been working hard on this week has been to Light the World. It's been so great seeing all the miracles and things that are happening as we go out and do those little acts of service each day. I know that through all our little efforts the Lord is blessing not only them, but us as well. It's through the small things that great things come to pass. Alma 37:6-7.
I hope you have all been reaching out to those around you and enjoying the Christmas season! Every effort counts and is a blessing to someone else. I love and miss you all so much! I hope you have a blessed week and are looking forward to Christmas and celebrating the day of Christ's birth.
Don't forget to remember why this season is so special, and the true meaning of Christmas.
Love, Sister Burton
