ROUTE 66 April 25, 2018

This week we had Zone Conference and went on exchanges in Joplin again. It was a blast! We enjoyed learning so much from our mission president and his wife. Good things are happening and I love it! We talked a lot about personal revelation as well. It's very important for us to recognize how Heavenly Father speaks to us so that we can act on the things we are prompted to do. So many good things, I'm not even sure what to tell you! haha

My wonderful companion and I went and played volleyball with our investigator, we just rode by and they were out playing so we joined them and Sister Najera went to hit the ball and I was talking with our investigator and she nailed me in the head. It was so funny! Luckily it was a soft ball, but it just reminded me of the times playing volleyball with the YSA back home. We also met the guy who owns the little Dairy King in commerce which is a landmark on Route 66. It was so cool! He had previously met with missionaries and has read the whole Book of Mormon! Because he knows a little about what we do as missionaries he gave us some free ice cream and cookies. It was so sweet! and so fun to hear his experiences. I love how many people I am meeting and it's crazy to think about the different lives we are living in the same world. Also, how small the church world really is. It's amazing. I love being a missionary!

Oh! We got a referral this week for someone who requested a Book of Mormon on mormon.org. We were so excited to give them a Book of Mormon. We called and contacted her and she seemed very excited to have one. We went to her house just last night and met her, her mom, and her sister. It turns out they are all members and were baptized in Indiana. They had just reconnected with their missionary and he told them to go back to church. It was amazing! We asked if they wanted their records here and they said yes and they want to come back to church. They also want us to teach them the lessons again, because it's been a long time. I thought this was a very spiritual experience, because she knew that ordering a Book of Mormon is what she needed to help her come back to church. To me, that showed me that she was converted to the Book of Mormon. Even though she fell away from the church for a little bit, she knew that the Book of Mormon would bring her back to where she wanted to be.

The Book of Mormon truly is key to our conversions, because like many prophets have said, if the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, if he was a prophet, then he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints IS Jesus Christ's church on the earth being led by a prophet today. It's so wonderful! As we continue to read and pray about the Book of Mormon, we will be able to receive that confirmation and as we come to know it is true, then we will know that everything else is true as well. How blessed we are to have the Book of Mormon so we can all know for ourselves!

Thank you so so much for all your love and encouragement! I appreciate it more than you know! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Love, Sister Burton

FIREFLIES AND RAIN! May 29, 2018

Hello friends and family!!  This week was so good! We had a lot of fun and visited a LOT of people! It was fantastic! The members here are so good to us and really do want to help, so we are working hard with them to help them become even greater missionaries :) It rained a lot at the beginning of the week, but it was fun knocking on peoples door in the rain. We got into a couple houses because of it :) At night the fireflies all come out and it is so AMAZING! There are lots of fields here that are just full of them and it is so cool to see at night. Fun story, so today we got to do a little photo shoot with one our members and her 3 year old son. It was so much fun! Sister Wamsley was a wedding photographer before the mission so she has skills to do it. We took pictures of them making/eating spaghetti and cutting cabbage. It was cute. We were asked to do it for our Mission Presidents wife to use for the family history booth they have in Bentonville. It was really cool

BLESSINGS January 7, 2019

This week was so good and full of blessings! It started with New years eve at Bob and Wanda's. We went and they had all kinds of party toys to celebrate the new year. There were lots of people and as we were sitting there talking with our recent convert and his family (people we are trying to teach) and then these people behind saw us and talked to us for a minute and then later that night they gave us their phone number and addresses and told us to stop by soon. It was amazing!  Tuesday we had interviews with our mission president and his wife and it was wonderful. It's so good being able to talk to them. We can tell how much they truly love and care about us which is super good. That night we had our big group lesson and we were on exchanges so I took our greenie that's down here and it was such a great lesson! At first, it was crazy and chaotic. There were so many people and lots of different t conversations at once. But after we said we would like to share a messag
