MIRACLES AND SNOW!! January 15, 2018

SO SORRY!!!  This was last week's email! I forgot to send it! But I'll send another one today as well! Now you just get double Sister Burton this week, lucky you :) haha

This week has been so good! But of course as soon as we get the car, there's something wrong with it. We had a nail stuck in one of the tires and the air was off on all of them, but we got it fixed so that was an adventure! haha Other than that things ran smoothly. We had Zone Conference this week with lots of other missionaries and that was super fun being around them and my companion had to give her departing testimony which was sad, but she did a great job. :)
Sadly we had to give the car back to the Elders for the week after that, but our members are amazing at giving us rides, we are so grateful for them!

Okay, so miracle that happened this week. My companion Sister Robinette served here a year ago and when she first came back she wondered why she was called to be here again. Then she thought it was because of this investigator that she taught while she was here who one day just disappeared on her. This was devastating to her, but she thought about her the whole time she was gone. Then we were driving and she thought she saw her! So we went by that house (It was her sons house who lives across the street from us) He said she was back, but not there at the moment. Then we went back yesterday and right as I knocked on the door she opened it and was so excited! It was amazing! She remembered all the lessons she had taken and was thrilled to see Sister Robinette again. She wants us to come back and keep teaching her. It was a really cool experience being able to find her again after so long, but the Lord helps lead us to those who are prepared to hear the gospel. :)

Another great thing that happened this week was the young single adult devotional from Elder and Sister Uchtdorf. It was amazing! They had so many wonderful things to say and I just loved it. I really liked when he quoted Steve Jobs about "You cannot connect the dots looking forward, only by looking backwards." and how as we step back and take an eternal perspective then we can see the dots connect and we'll be able to see the beautiful design. I love this! Sometimes we can't see why things are happening when they are happening, but when we look back we can see the reason and it's amazing. Elder Uchtdorf goes on to say to TRUST GOD, He will take care of the big picture. As we put our trust in God we allow him to help us connect the dots and grow so that as we look back, we can see a beautiful painting or design :) Ahh, I encourage you all to go watch it, even if you are not a young single adult. He said so many things that can apply to everyone. He ended by saying, "All of this will bring you happiness and joy." I believe it and I know that the Lord will help us every step of the way. We just need to put our trust in Him and recognize that He knows what's best for us. I am so grateful for this knowledge and the chance we have to learn and grow. As we seek Heavenly Father, He will be able to bless us in so many ways that we can't even imagine.

I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful week! :)
Thank you so much for your emails and love! I appreciate it so much!

Love, Sister Burton

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! December 24, 2018

It's been an adventure of a week!  It started with our fun skit lesson we did with the elders. We have a family that feeds us every Tuesday and her sister lives in the Alma ward and her niece is being taught by the Elders so they asked if we could all do a lesson together at the church so we did! We (missionaries) acted out the scene of 1st Nephi when they go and get the plates. It was so much fun! It was a great to bring the scriptures to life and they all loved it. Plus, I got to be Laman and Lemuel so that was fun. After the skit we had a discussion about the faith that Nephi had for them to get the plates and how Laman and Lemuel repented from rebelling and they had to act on their faith as well. It was really special because then the lady who feeds us, both of her sisters aren't members and they were talking about baptism and learning more as well. So amazing!!! It was a great night. We are going to have another big lesson with them on Wednesday and I'll let y...

CHRISTMAS EVERYDAY!! December 17,2108

Woohoo! It's almost Christmas!!! One of our favorite songs right now is Christmas everyday by David archuleta. It you haven't heard it, I encourage you to go listen to it and his whole album. Ah. So good! It's been an eventful week as well!  We had MLC in bentonville which is where we went and talked about plans for our zone conference and future district councils. It was so much fun! Sister Rosenberg was called to be the other sister training leader so we get to go to that meeting together and we were able to do exchanges all day Wednesday and I stayed in Prairie Grove. It was so cool!!! I got to see a lot of the people I love and miss from that area. It was a blast being able to see them and be in their homes again. We had zone conference on Thursday and it was so fun! Since its Christmas it was a 2 hour meeting and the rest was just games and a talent show. Super cool! There are a ton of talented missionaries here. There was singing, kickboxing, roller skating, piano...
