WHAT A WEEK! January 29, 2018

Hey Everyone!!

This week was an adventure that's for sure :) It started off a little rough, but we had a wonderful experience of getting a blessing from one of the Elders in our district. It was so nice being able to feel comforted by the Spirit. I have learned so much about blessings and that it is OKAY to ask for help. It's OKAY to ask for a blessing. The Lord loves us and wants to bless us. We just need to do our part and reach out to Him.

I am sorry I don't have much time to write, but one miracle story we had this week was we were walking from lunch to our place we do service and we had like 30 minutes before we had to be there. We weren't sure what to do, but we kept walking and then we looked to the left of us and there was a man walking in the parking lot. So my companion was here last year and was teaching this guy named Jim, and so she looked at the guy and said, "I think that's Jim!" We walked over and talked to him and it was him!! He said he had been trying to reach us for the last two weeks, but every time he went to the church no one was there. It was amazing that the Lord put him in our paths. He said he knew that God put us there for a reason and he is determined to figure out what that is. Now he's been coming to church and meeting with us and it has just been such an amazing blessing for us and for him. That is one of our miracles this week that I am so grateful to be a part of. The Lord really does help us in our lives, He guides us to where we need to be, we just need to be willing to do the things He asks of us.

I love you all and hope you have a fantastic week! There is a mormon message called Good things to Come by Elder Holland and I love how he says, "Don't you quit!" There are still so many good things to come, we just can't give up. I hope you all can see that this week and know that the Lord loves you so much!! He hears your prayers and He is there for you, but don't you quit! :)

Love, Sister Burton

A crazy story for the week was my companion cut my hair and I cut hers!! It was so much fun and a lot of trust! haha but it looks great! It feels nice too not having the dead ends anymore :)

We also went on exchanges with the Nevada sisters-So fun!! :)

SMALL AND SIMPLE January 21, 2019

Hello friends and family!  It has been an adventure of a week, that's for sure! We had a super fun last night at Bob and Wanda's. Some of the people from Prairie Grove came down to hear me sing again. It was sad saying goodbye to everyone, but I know Heavenly Father has a plan for me. Then we went to the Senior center on Tuesday and delivered meals to 66 different houses! That was fun running around and giving people meals. They were a lot more open and excited to see us, that's for sure :) Haha! Then we had my last group lesson Tuesday night. We did the Book of Mormon experiment and had everyone take a page from the Book of Mormon and then highlight every time it mentions the Savior and things that stood out to you. We had an amazing discussion and everyone participated in it. So good!! Wednesday I packed and said goodbye to more people, I definitely miss Van Buren. But. Thursday I made it safely to MOUNTAIN HOME!! woohoo!! I met my new companion sister Chandler and she ...

ROUTE 66 April 25, 2018

This week we had Zone Conference and went on exchanges in Joplin again. It was a blast! We enjoyed learning so much from our mission president and his wife. Good things are happening and I love it! We talked a lot about personal revelation as well. It's very important for us to recognize how Heavenly Father speaks to us so that we can act on the things we are prompted to do. So many good things, I'm not even sure what to tell you! haha  My wonderful companion and I went and played volleyball with our investigator, we just rode by and they were out playing so we joined them and Sister Najera went to hit the ball and I was talking with our investigator and she nailed me in the head. It was so funny! Luckily it was a soft ball, but it just reminded me of the times playing volleyball with the YSA back home. We also met the guy who owns the little Dairy King in commerce which is a landmark on Route 66. It was so cool! He had previously met with missionaries and has read the who...
