FOR WITH GOD NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE April 16, 2018

Hi Friends and Family!!

This week was so great! I love seeing the connections that we all have with people. There's always someone who knows someone. It's exciting. We went on exchanges with the Joplin 2nd sisters and that morning on our way there our member was telling me about where her son used to work and I had never heard of it before. Then we were teaching one of their investigators and he worked at the same place! So I asked if he knew our member and he said yes. It was so cool to be able to make that connection. It's the little things in life that make me so happy :) haha

Another amazing spiritual experience we had this week was, one of our investigators has been struggling with not smoking. We would give her the stop smoking workshop, talk about ways to stop, but turns out her reason for not stopping was simply because she didn't really want to. She liked her habit and so then she asked us to give her a couple weeks before we meet again. The next time we went back to teach her, we decided not to talk about her smoking, not even bring it up. She told us she really wants to help her husband get to the temple and she knows she can stop smoking. It was amazing to see that change in her and we could really see how much she was thinking about it. She had watched all of General Conference and knows that the church is true, so she has found a greater desire to become a member and take her husband to the temple. It was amazing! Then, she asked us to teach by starting with asking the baptismal interview questions, so pretty much having all the lessons again, but helping her clarify the doctrine so that she knows without a doubt what it is and that she believes it. We went this past week for our lesson and she had changed so much! She was so upbeat and happy, she has started to wean herself off smoking and has stopped buying tobacco so that she can stop. We set a goal with her for June to prepare herself, because we know that as she keeps the commitments we extend to her and keeps her family and the temple in her sights, the Lord will help her do the things she desires. It was such a spiritual experience to me, because I've been teaching her since November and being able to see her motivation change so much, it was so amazing! At first, she didn't think she could stop smoking, she thought she was too addicted, but now she knows she can't be stopped. Yesterday at church everyone went up and made her feel so welcomed. I know that as we come to understand the gospel of Jesus Christ more fully and apply it in our lives, we will know the Lord is on our side and helping us along the way. This was a great testimony builder for me to see that, "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:39

I know it's so true! With God there truly is nothing we can't do. We listened to a talk by Matt Townsend this week and he talked about how we are Spiritual bodies having a human experience, not human bodies having Spiritual experiences and I just loved that! We are all Sons and Daughters of God and we really are Spiritual beings. We came to earth to gain a body to have these human experiences so that we can grow, but we also need to remember that we are IN the world, but we don't need to be OF the world. I love you all so much! I hope you all remember that you truly are a Child of God and He loves you so much. He wants you to enjoy life and have these experiences so you can learn, grown, and turn to Him.

I hope you all have a fantastic week!! :)

Hey Y'all!!  This week was sooo good!! There are so many things that happened I don't know where to start. Last week on Pday we went to the Walmart Museum which was really cool! It was fun learning about the history, plus the best part was the ice cream at the end haha :) Then on Tuesday we went on exchanges and I went with Sister Buttars who is super funny and it was cool seeing her area of the mission. Funny story: One night this week we had dinner with a family and they didn't have dessert which we thought was great because we get fed so much. Then we went walking in a neighborhood visiting some members and we stopped at three houses. All three said, would you like a cookie?? So we had lots of cookies haha it was fun though. One of those houses was our mission president, because they are in our ward so that was fun :) Thursday we went to the mission office and got a Tiwi.. it's the thing that monitors our cars and ours has been broken until now. It took some gett...

OKLAHOMA ADVENTURES November 27, 2017

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving on Thursday ! My companion and I were nicely fed by our new Bishop and his family. It was so nice! It's been an adventure shotgunning this area with two new missionaries. The area is huge here, but the members are few. Also, we don't have a car yet and we aren't sure if we will get one and my bike is in Bentonville sadly so we will have to wait till the end of this week to get that. So right now we are walking! It's been fun though, because we've been able to talk to more people that way. However we can only walk around Miami and it's a lot of walking haha but I love being here! :)  My companion is Sister Knight and she's from South Ogden Utah and has been out 6 Months. She has been in three areas as well and we get along great! We've been really working hard to get to know all the members and get to know the area since we are both new and there haven't been missionaries since J...
