HEY Y'ALL!!
I have a new companion and she's fantastic! We have already had lots of fun together! She is from Springville, UT and loves to roller skate. It's going to be a great transfer! I am doing well and glad to be able to stay here in Prairie Grove another 6 weeks! :)
I have seen so many people who have been touched this week! It's been amazing being able to see that so many people have previously met with missionaries or have had experiences with members. We went tracting and met a lady who was super sweet to us when she opened the door. Then she started to tell us that the Elders used to come over to her house and bring her pamphlets and she liked it. She scheduled a time for us to come back right away. It was super neat. Then, just a few houses down the street we met another lady who was good friends with a member of our ward. She said she loved her friend and thought the church was good. She wasn't open at this time, but we left on a really positive note. I think it is so wonderful that even though I may not be the "7th" touch, I am leaving them with a positive experience with the church so that when they are ready to hear the gospel, they will be able to remember all the good things that they have experienced. It's been hard because I want to be the 7th touch, but that's not always the case. The Lord need builders just as much as He needs sowers. The more I have been thinking about this the more I realized as long as I am doing everything I can, the work is still progressing. There are people who are being prepared, through our many touches, and through the Spirit working with them. I know that I have been called to stay in this area another 6 weeks for a reason and there is something I can do to help this area grow. I feel that the touches I make, will make a difference. The Lord definitely calls the weak and simple, but through these experiences we can become strong.
I learned that I can't do everything on my own. When I try, things don't work out. But when I turn to the Lord for help, He can help us accomplish the work. Yesterday I was getting stressed out because I didn't know what to do. There were many different things we could do, which all would be good, but I wasn't sure which one would be best. Sister Rosenberg wanted to help, but didn't know how because she doesn't know the people or the area yet because she just got her so I felt a little bit like I was doing it all on my own. Then we stopped and I said, we should say a prayer. Once we prayed I knew where we needed to go and it was amazing because Sister Rosenberg had the same prompting. We went and met someone named Charity and it was so cool because we studied charity in Relief Society. So we were able to share a scripture from the Book of Mormon with her and I feel that it was definitely a positive touch. We also found out that she had been given a Book of Mormon previously from the Elders a while back and she still had it! So not only were we able to leave with a positive touch, but it wasn't the first. This made me feel so much better because I knew that we had followed a prompting and the direction which the Lord wanted us to go. I know that as we turn to Him in Prayer, we can know how to best use our skills and time to help our areas. I know that this has changed me and my perspective on what to do when in a situation like that. I know that trusting in the Lord is how we can help others. I am so grateful for this experience to help me learn and change.
Thank you so much for all your love and support! I appreciate it soo much!! :)
