LIGHT THE WORLD!! December 4, 2018

Yay! It's Christmas time!!

I hope all y'all had a wonderful week!

First off, I am staying here in Van Buren with Sister Buhler for another transfer! Woohoo!  It's been an adventure this week and we are so grateful we will get to spend Christmas here!!

Another thing that has happened this week is Light The World has started! Yay! It started with the worldwide day of service and we were able to do so much service that day! Sadly, there was a tornado Friday night that hit part of Van Buren, but gratefully no one was hurt and we were able to go and help the people whose houses were ruined. It was sad to see the damage, but amazing to see everyone working together to help one another. There were many miracles that happened to the people who were right by the tornado. One man left to go to Walmart to get more batteries in case the power went out and when he came back home his house was gone. It was a blessing that he left. He has a wife who is pregnant as well. Luckily they were all out of the house when the tornado hit it. It was really special on Sunday because our branch president cancelled the last two hours of church so that we could all go and use our tools to help cut up the broken trees and help the people more. We all got some helping hand vests and were able to go and meet many people. It was so great! I loved seeing everyone come together. We even had people and missionaries from the other areas come over to help clean up. People were very impressed and one lady said seeing us help her family really changed her perspective of us and our church. It was a wonderful missionary opportunity. People truly do notice us when we serve others and strive to be like our Savior. How wonderful that we get to give as He gave with the Light The World season. (:

We also have been able to meet new people who are so ready for the gospel! We met a man who ordered a Book of Mormon and we taught the restoration to him and the spirit was so strong. He's been wanting to change his life and become closer to Heavenly Father and it's a amazing being able to share our message with him. Another person we are teaching went to a baptism this last Saturday and loved it! One of the elders asked her if that was something she wanted to do and then he invited to pray about it and she did! She told us she knows it's something she needs and wants to do, but she wants to be ready for it. It was amazing!! So we will be helping her prepare for baptism. It's amazing because she has been meeting with missionaries for a long time, but hasn't felt ready until now. God's timing is wonderful!

I'm so grateful for the people here and the opportunity to serve! I'm happy to stay here 6 more weeks (: I hope y'all have a fantastic week! And look for ways to light the world!

FIREFLIES AND RAIN! May 29, 2018

Hello friends and family!!  This week was so good! We had a lot of fun and visited a LOT of people! It was fantastic! The members here are so good to us and really do want to help, so we are working hard with them to help them become even greater missionaries :) It rained a lot at the beginning of the week, but it was fun knocking on peoples door in the rain. We got into a couple houses because of it :) At night the fireflies all come out and it is so AMAZING! There are lots of fields here that are just full of them and it is so cool to see at night. Fun story, so today we got to do a little photo shoot with one our members and her 3 year old son. It was so much fun! Sister Wamsley was a wedding photographer before the mission so she has skills to do it. We took pictures of them making/eating spaghetti and cutting cabbage. It was cute. We were asked to do it for our Mission Presidents wife to use for the family history booth they have in Bentonville. It was really cool

BLESSINGS January 7, 2019

This week was so good and full of blessings! It started with New years eve at Bob and Wanda's. We went and they had all kinds of party toys to celebrate the new year. There were lots of people and as we were sitting there talking with our recent convert and his family (people we are trying to teach) and then these people behind saw us and talked to us for a minute and then later that night they gave us their phone number and addresses and told us to stop by soon. It was amazing!  Tuesday we had interviews with our mission president and his wife and it was wonderful. It's so good being able to talk to them. We can tell how much they truly love and care about us which is super good. That night we had our big group lesson and we were on exchanges so I took our greenie that's down here and it was such a great lesson! At first, it was crazy and chaotic. There were so many people and lots of different t conversations at once. But after we said we would like to share a messag
